Washington, DC, September 29, 2010 – More than 700 people from around the National Capital Area gathered downtown for The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary 61st annual Fashion Show and Luncheon at The Ritz-Carlton.  The event kicked off with an 11:00 am reception.

The show is the Women’s Auxiliary annual signature event.  The group works year-round donating their time and raising money for The Salvation Army programs, all of which are designed to help relieve poverty, educate and bring comfort to the city’s neediest people.  The proceeds directly benefit programs offered to people in need through The Salvation Army.

Local philanthropist, Muslim Lakhani and his family were honored with the 2010 Compassionate Citizen Award for their generosity and commitment to fully fund The Salvation Army’s homeless feeding program, Grate Patrol.

Saks Fifth Avenue, Chevy Chase presented The Elite of the Fall 2010 Collections, all from top designers.  The clothing was modeled by community leaders, media and sports celebrities and professional models.  Additionally, the attendees received a 15% off coupon to use at Saks Fifth Avenue, Chevy Chase between September 29 and October 1.

Here are some photos from the 61st Annual Fashion Show and Luncheon.  More photos will be posted in the coming days.
