Tuscaloosa Disaster Recovery Center Opens in Last Weekend

 (Washington, DC) – Major Steve Morris is currently in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, serving as Incident Commnader for The Salvation Army’s emergency relief effort. The area was devastated by the series of tornadoes that ripped through the south several weeks ago. 

Last Friday, The Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services opened a temporary site in the McFarland Mall in Tuscaloosas.  The disaster recovery office is located in a space previously occupied by Goody’s, an old department store.  The center will assist storm survivors by offering not only food, hygience and cleaning kits, but spiritual counseling as well.
