The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary will hold its 62nd Annual Luncheon and Fashion Show on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at the Ritz Carlton on 1150 22nd Street, N.W. in Washington, DC.  Featuring the Fall Collection of Saks Fifth Avenue, Chevy Chase, the Luncheon Fashion Show begins at 12 Noon. This event is vitally important to The Salvation Army’s work throughout the National Capital area including DC, Maryland and Northern Virginia.  All proceeds from this event support The Salvation Army programs and services that advance education, relieve poverty, and bring comfort to the neediest in the area.

The Salvation Army is Doing the Most Good to assist people in need who call the Greater Washington area home. Among the community-based services sustained with proceeds from this event are Harbor Light, a substance abuse program for men and women; Turning Point, a transitional housing program serving mothers and children in crisis; The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program which provides holiday toys and clothing to area children; and Camp Happyland and the Music Conservatory, where local children are given the opportunity to play and learn in a safe environment and develop music skills.

Tickets to the event are $125.  For more information, please contact Women’s Auxiliary Coordinator, Mary C. Gonzalez at (202)756-2568 or at MCG@uss.salvationarmy.org or Carmen Stull, Fashion Show Chair at (301) 675-7162 or at carmenstull@verizon.net.  You can also visit the Salvation Army website at http://www.SalArmyDC.org.
